Our Sydney team is seeking an ambitious contaminated land management specialist to join a consultancy with deep roots in Australia's environmental sector.

Working alongside our principal staff, including our NSW EPA-accredited site auditor, you'll deliver high-quality contaminated land management and remediation projects to our expanding client base.

The role

As a Senior Consultant, you'll manage a variety of complex projects spanning landfill gas, groundwater, waste, soil, and surface water assessments. You'll have opportunities to provide environmental audit support while working collaboratively with our technical experts to further develop your skills.

A key focus will be leading project teams as you mentor graduates and junior consultants. As your experience grows, so too will your level of responsibility and impact within our organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage environmental investigation and remediation projects
  • Provide field and office-based technical guidance
  • Lead environmental site assessments including monitoring, soil, vapor, and groundwater assessments
  • Analyse and interpret environmental data and contribute to technical environmental reports
  • Develop compelling proposals and tenders
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients

Skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, geology, agricultural science, soil science, hydrogeology, or related discipline (postgraduate qualifications highly regarded)
  • 8+ years of project management and/or project direction experience in environmental assessment, auditing, and/or remediation
  • Demonstrated experience in contaminated land sector projects
  • Thorough understanding of NSW contaminated land legislation and NEPM assessment frameworks
  • Experience with remediation technology selection and implementation
  • Strong environmental data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Excellent report writing ability
