With a career in the environmental sector spanning 25 years, Ian Brookman returns to the EESI Group, where he played a pivotal role strategically expanding the business from 1998 to 2009. Over the course of his career, Ian has been a driving force in the environmental consulting and remediation industry, developing innovative solutions to soil and water contamination challenges in urban, regional, and remote settings. With his wealth of technical, strategic, and business development expertise, Mr. Brookman is ideally suited to steer the business forward.
A leader in the contamination remediation industry, Ian has been instrumental in the successful remediation delivery for some of Australia’s most complex contaminated sites. Ian also developed a dedicated team and a suite of solutions to remediate emerging contaminants in soil, with an emphasis on per– and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Notably, he was part of the group that delivered one of the world’s first full-scale PFAS source area remediation projects, featuring a patented soil–washing technology.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ian served on the Board of Directors of the Australasian Land & Groundwater Association (ALGA) from 2014 to 2020 and held the position of ALGA President from 2015 to 2020. His leadership and contributions were also evident during his two–year tenure as Chair of the Victorian Committee.
In his new role as CEO of EESI Group, Ian Brookman will continue to lead the company’s mission to restore and promote the sustainable use of contaminated land and water, providing expert advisory services that nurture landscapes to achieve optimal productivity and ecological health.
